The Marsback Zephyr Pro Gaming Mouse is an excellent revision of the last Marsback Zephyr mouse, but it falls short of being great. And if you're not worried about sweaty hands, there are plenty of other options to entertain. It's just that fan, which might be a selling point for some, was totally unnecessary for me. It's got great software that's simple to use, and tons of customization options. It's aesthetically pleasing, and it feels good to use, whether you're on a mousepad or not. The Marsback Zephyr Pro Gaming Mouse is a solid mouse overall. You like having lots of buttons on your mouse. You enjoy cranking the sensitivity all the way up.You get clammy, sweaty hands while gaming.Source: Marsback (Image credit: Source: Marsback) You should buy this if. ![]() Marsback Zephyr Pro Gaming Mouse: Competition For full price, I think there are better mice to go for, but if you're looking for a distinctly unique mouse with a distinct gimmick, the Marsback Zephyr Pro might be right for you. But even if the specs of the Marsback Zephyr Pro might be great on paper, the mouse isn't as ergonomic as other gaming mice. I normally use the Roccat Aimo which features 12 buttons, so the loss of functionality was noticed. ![]() And while it has eight buttons, only six can really be adjusted. Without the fan gimmick, the mouse works just fine on its own. But I personally didn't need it at all, and it was sometimes distracting. I understand the application, and there might be some users who'll truly appreciate the cooling blast from the mouse. I found myself just turning the fan off most of the time. The single button on the bottom of the mouse only turns it on and off, and there's no RPM indicator for fan speed on the mouse or in the software. Even worse, I found that the skin on my right hand (which actually was burned not too long ago) would become dry after using it for a while, so I found myself just turning the fan off most of the time. My hands have never been so hot that I've needed a fan directly on them, nor do I live in a particularly hot climate. My major complaint with the Marsback Zephyr Pro is that I personally didn't need the fan. Source: Windows Central / Zackery Cuevas (Image credit: Source: Windows Central / Zackery Cuevas)

Maybe this is true, maybe it’s just some crybabies whining, but one thing is for sure: On networks without registration, oper/admins have no “magic” powers over channels and you are free to run them any way you want. You know the saying, “Absolute power corrupts absolutely”? On networks with registration, there are often allegations of IRC oper/admin abuse, such as taking over a channel just because they disagree with the policy of the channel or the people who run it. By necessity, registration services give the IRC operators or administrators who run the IRC servers the “magic” ability to give or take away ownership of a channel/nick. Some people think this is confusing, we prefer to say it’s fair. On networks without registration, everything is first-come first-served, and nothing is permanent. Most of the “good” channel/nick names are already taken, since anybody can register a name and keep it even when they aren’t online. EFnet tried to compromise by coming up with a pseudo-chanserv called CHANFIX which effectively helps reasonably large, stable channels to deal with occasional opless or takeover problems. Imagine the outrage and chaos that would ensue. ![]() For example, if registration took effect on a day when somebody just took over “your” channel/nick temporarily, then that channel/nick would be permanently owned by him instead. Even in the unlikely event that everybody agreed to adopt registration now, it would be very difficult to establish who owned which channel/nick. ![]() Implementing services now could be quite controversial. Some networks like EFnet and IRCnet are so old that they actually predate the idea of services, which were in fact developed specifically for newer networks like DALnet. If every network had the exact same services and policies, there wouldn’t be any reason for them to all exist separately. Every network is independent and different. ![]() The remaining of this guide will focus on the philosophical question of why other nets have no registration services. The YubiKey is a small hardware authentication device, created by Yubico, that supports a wide range of authentication protocols.
